Hi, I'm Oscar
My main goal right now is simple: commercialise green steel in Australia.
The long-term vision is bigger - build a world-class sustainable materials company so the products we buy are actually made from better materials. Getting there means working on more than one thing. I'm running ventures, building tools, and funding R&D - all connected back to the same mission.
Below is what I'm working on right now - a future-proof sustainability ecosystem where every venture generates revenue, funds R&D, and pushes green materials closer to market.

The Ecosystem
Five ventures, one loop. Cashflow from operating businesses funds the R&D. Tools I build to manage the ecosystem become products. Everything feeds back into getting green steel to market.
Green steel commercialisation. The core mission. Turning PhD research into practical industrial applications.
Sustainable fashion. Every purchase reinvested through VACSO to accelerate sustainable consumer products.
AI goal-tracking platform. Built on VACSO Hub - started as an internal tool for managing research, now being opened up to everyone.
AI-powered brand management. Built to keep all VACSO brands consistent. Turning it into a standalone product.
Cashflow business. Monthly premium wine drops generating revenue that funds R&D across the ecosystem.
How I Got Here
I studied a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII) at UTS. During that time, in 2018, I started Thirsti - a wine business selling monthly premium drops. After struggling to get it up and running during COVID, I relaunched it as a platform for monthly stock releases. It now generates the cashflow that funds R&D across the other ventures.
After finishing my undergrad, I did a PhD at UNSW's AGSM studying why green hydrogen technologies fail to commercialise. The research showed me that the bottleneck isn't the science — it's supply chains, financing, and market development. That's what led to VACSO - taking what I learned about technology commercialisation and actually doing it.
Along the way, I've built tools to manage the growing ecosystem - Electrolyse for brand management, VACSO Hub as the research and operations engine behind WIYD. What started as internal tools are now becoming products in their own right. I'm using AI to build systems that let me work across all of these ventures simultaneously.
My Approach
I share my progress on these projects, what's working and what isn't. The journey page has updates on metrics, milestones, and current challenges.
The goal is transparency. I document the actual work: revenue, users, problems I'm facing, and lessons learned. No highlight reel, just honest updates on building these companies.
If you're building something similar or interested in this kind of work, hopefully the documentation is useful.
